Subsequent Appointments
Regular appointments during the course of your pregnancy are necessary to ensure that everything is progressing as it should. These visits allow us to ensure that you’re getting the care you need, and for you to ask any questions that you might have as your pregnancy progresses.
These appointments are usually four to six weekly until 30 weeks gestation, two to three weeks until 36 weeks gestation, and then weekly until delivery. The frequency may vary depending on how your pregnancy is progressing.
At these visits one of our midwives will check your blood pressure and urine, and Dr O’Neill will assess the growth of your baby and perform an ultrasound. Regular checks are important to make sure you are not developing signs of complications in pregnancy, such as Pre-Eclampsia or Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR).
Dr O’Neill is passionate about ensuring you have had ample opportunity to discuss labour and delivery in an empathetic and supportive setting before the big day arrives. Through regular appointments there is plenty of time to make these plans.
